Councillor News Spotlight – September 2023 Update

News Spotlight Septmeber 2023 for Councillor Liz Sahu (1) Challenged Leicester Hospital leaders at the public health scrutiny committee by asking questions to (1) ensure enough medical staff are available and (2) to deal with the horrendous year long wait times for children and adults with mental health conditions. (2) Attended historic building tour discussing the works at the Cathedral to open before Xmas and the Jewry Wall museum opening Oct 24th. Jewry Wall museum will have a green roof now! (3) Pushed the Deputy Mayor to hold a meeting with the Clarendon Park playground parent lead to discuss the urgent refurbishment of the play equipment. Local children love the playground and deserve better! (4) Proud to have convinced the organisers of the BBC Radio 2 festival in Victoria Park to adopt a 10p deposit scheme for drinking cups - great feedback that this was a real motivator for loads of children to recycle cups (5)
